About Us

We are Advance Physical Therapy and Wellness. We offer a highly motivating and positive atmosphere in rehabilitation and wellness. Advance Physical Therapy and Wellness uses a variety of therapeutic approaches to healing one's body and restoring function with a strong emphasis on patient education. Our treatments are all personalized for each client as there are a multitude of diagnoses with varying acuity levels, with a goal of relieving pain, improving motion and restoring function.

Management Team

Tara Schwartz

Tara is a 1990 graduate of Cortland State University with a BS in education and exercise physiology. She completed her Advanced Master's of Physical Therapy in 1996 from the Institute of Physical Therapy in St. Augustine, Florida. Tara has participated in extensive continuing education courses with a focus on orthopedics, sports injury, and manual therapy. Tara has worked with recreational, high school, collegiate, and professional athletes for both rehabilitation and performance enhancement training. Tara also has extensive experience in geriatric orthopedic rehabilitation and balance re-training. Tara's continuing education includes spine training, as well as focus on treatment for the extremities and joints throughout the body. Tara provides health and wellness seminars in the community to a variety of different groups/businesses.

Kristen Snellenburg

Kirsten Snellenburg

Kirsten is a graduate of Eckerd College, Humanity School of Massage, and has her Master's Degree in physical therapy from Nova Southeastern University.

She has completed her doctorate work in physical therapy from the University of St. Augustine in 2008.

Kirsten specializes in women's health, vestibular dysfunction, and sports injury.

Kirsten also sponsors several seminars for postgraduate training and sports massage, ultrasound, and other soft tissue dysfunction. She is a former Olympic coach and a contributing author for the textbook (Sports Injury and Rehabilitation).

Lou Ann Evinger

LouAnn Evinger, P.T.A

LouAnn has been a member of the Advance Physical Therapy and Wellness team since its inception in 2004. She is a graduate of St. Pete. Jr. College Physical Therapist Assistant program with over 20 years experience in Out Patient rehabilitation. She has extensive manual therapy experience including Myofascial Release, TMJ, and sport/orthopedic injuries. She is also involved in our Work Reconditioning, Balance and Pelvic Floor programs. LouAnn has participated in numerous continuing education courses including those of Dr. John Barnes, Dr. Lawrence Jones and Mariano Rocabado.

Victor Vazquez, P.T.A

Victor has been a member of Advance Physical Therapy since the opening of our second clinic in 2005. He is a graduate of Polk State College (1999) as a member of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society. He played college volleyball and is still involved in basketball, swimming, and cycling. He is a certified fitness specialist from the YMCA of the USA since 1996. He also worked as a Strength Trainer with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Victor has ten years of outpatient experience including sports/orthopedic injuries, balance problems, cervical dysfunction/headaches and various musculoskeletal disorders. He continues his education by participating in various seminars to ensure outstanding evidence based practice techniques. Victor is bilingual (Spanish/English) and recently patented a new therapy product that will be available in 2010.
